Description

Visit the world’s first combat submarine, the H. L. Hunley, which disappeared after its battle with the

USS Housatonic in 1864 and was not found again until 1995. Successfully recovered from the sea in 2000, the submarine now occupies a 75,000-gallon conservation tank. Come with us on this private, self-paced tour to see the sub along with the artifacts discovered onboard during the excavation.  After our guided tour, you’ll have some free time downtown for lunch and shopping. Lunch on your own.  NOTE: You must be able to climb stairs in order to view the submarine. Departure time is 8:15 a.m. Activity level 4.
