We are revising our website this summer, so the newsletter has been temporarily suspended until we can install a new mechanism for gathering subscriptions. Meanwhile, we are offering new excursions, clubs, and classes for spring and summer 2024. Just look under courses or local excursions for those additions. Also, we are offering these two overnight trips to the first 8 people interested:

June 6-14, Oregon Adventure with Carol and Kelli, $3000 pp including airfare

Our group will fly to Portland, OR and explore the city of Roses for a day or two. We will be there during the Festival of Roses, so we will be sure to go to Washington Park, the location of the International Rose Test Garden, the Japanese Garden, and the Hoyt Arboretum. We will then rent a 12-passenger van and make our way down the Oregon coast from Cannon Beach to Reedsport, enjoying the beautiful scenery along highway 101 and stopping at the Tillamook Creamery for a tour. The next day, we will stop at some wineries and waterfalls on our way to Crater Lake National Park. After a restful night, we will tour the park and head northeast to the Painted Hills and then, the next day, on to the Columbia River Gorge, where we will spend our last days visiting waterfalls and wineries in that area and enjoying magnificent views of Mt. Hood. Email us right away if you wish to join us. Activity level: 4.

June 24-26, Glamping at Givhan’s Ferry State Park and Tubing on the Edisto River $250 pp

We will be “roughing it” in 4 cabins along the river. This is truly glamping: the cabins have beds, bath, kitchen, linens, etc. Two breakfasts and one dinner will be provided; the other meals will be on your own. We will tube on Tuesday and enjoy hiking and hanging out in the park the rest of the time. Activity level: 4. (Email us right away and send your check to SALT, 1412 Spruce Dr., Surfside Beach, SC 29575 if you want to join us!)
