Sheila Rudesill worked as a buyer for Higbee’s (which later became Dillard’s) and Rike’s (which morphed into Macy’s). After retirement, she and her husband moved to Myrtle Beach, where she has lived for 18 years. She started karate at age 69 and has risen to the rank of nidan or second degree black belt. She says she “loves the practice” and kept it up even during the pandemic via Zoom. In addition to karate, Sheila also practices tai chi and has made many friends through this very gentle martial art. And, she is a yoga practitioner.
